Well, I started in my early twenties as a sub-contract bricklayer, building private and commercial buildings. When the opportunity arose, I started my own building company.

After completing one particular commercial refurbishment, I was engaged as the property maintenance company that covered many individual units across East Anglia for a major international client.

When that contract ended (at a time when the UK housing market was in decline) I stepped away from construction and became a senior I.T. instructor for a training company. That meant being, not only diligent with administration, but also skilled with technology.

Of course, when property is your passion, you eventually answer that call!

When textured ceilings were popular (yes, they were) I trained with Artex and became an independent Artex and coving contractor. Again, this was a mixture of domestic and commercial contracts.

As demand faded, I moved into blinds, shutters and awnings. It's something I still do, 15 years later.

But it was back in 2019 when I first became a legally-compliant deal sourcer / deal packager.

Using my extensive knowledge of the building trade, my experience with negotiating contracts and my organisational skills with admin and computers, I realised that I had a valuable skill-set that could help an investor looking for a property.
